Tarbolton Curling Club was established in 1814, the date on the Tarbolton Parish Medal, which is awarded annually to the skip winning the club league.

The club used to play at Tarbolton Loch, though on the occasion in the photograph below the match was at nearby Fail Loch.  All the club's games are now played at Ayr Ice Rink, Limekiln Road, Ayr.

Tarbolton CC is an all-male club.  The annual competitions are the League, Victoria Cup, and Jim Smith Pairs.

There are also four annual mixed competitions, organised in conjunction with Tarbolton Ladies CC.  These are the Mixed League, John Dodd Rosebowl, Dr Morris Salver and McFadzean Cup.

For many years Tarbolton Curling Club had a hut at Tarbolton Loch where curling stones were stored. Tarbolton Loch has latterly been redeveloped as the Burns Trout Fishery. The photographs below of the Tarbolton curling hut were taken on 25th June 2004. Towards the end of August 2004 the hut was demolished. The National Grid Reference for the site is NS425279.
